Abstract
Tema ovog završnog rada su kompoziti ojačani ugljičnim vlaknima. U radu je opisan razvoj kompozita kroz povijest, njihova podjela, svojstva i primjena kompozitnih materijala ojačanih ugljičnim vlaknima. Opisani su postupci dobivanja ugljičnih vlakana iz različitih početnih materijala i postupci spajanja dobivenih vlakana s odgovarajućom matricom u željeni oblik konačnog proizvoda. Na kraju je ukratko prikazano područje primjene ovih relativno novih kompozitnih materijala.
Abstract (english)
The main topic of this final project are carbon fiber reinforced composites. The text describes development of composite materials through history, their classification and finally propreties and application of carbon fiber reinforced composites. Later on procedures of converting precursor materials into carbon fiber are described as well as ways of bonding these fibers with adequate matrices and finally forming the wanted final product. In the end of the text there is a brief overview of different application areas for this rather new type of material.
