Abstract
Cilj ovog diplomskog rada je analizirati i objasniti izbor metala za izradu implantata u ljudskom tijelu. Posebna pažnja se posvećuje prije svega korozijskoj problematici visokolegiranih čelika koji su pod utjecajem agresivnog medija(u biološkom okolišu). Pobliže će se objasniti pojmovi biokompatibilnosti i biofunkcionalnosti materijala koji su od krucijalne važnosti prilikom izbora materijala za ugradnju implantata. Fokus je na materijalima koji se upotrebljavaju u medicini i biomedicini, od samog izbora materijala pa do njihovog ispitivanja, pri čemu je stavljen naglasak na svojstva (mehanička, kemijska, fizikalna) implatabilnih materijala te načine pripreme površine samog implantata. Pobliže su opisani metalni materijali koji se primarno koriste kao implantati kao što su: nehrđajući čelici, kobalt i njegove legure, titan i njegove legure te bioimplantati na bazi tantala. U nastavku ovog rada opisani su tipične vrste korozije koje se javljaju u agresivnom mediju kao što je ljudsko tijelo. Na kraju rada opisana je primjena metalnih implantata u ljudskom tijelu na primjeru zamjene oboljelog kuka umjetnom endoprotezom.
Abstract (english)
The aim of this final thesis is to analyze and explain the choice of metal for manufacturing implants in human body. Particular attention is given to the corrosion problem of high-alloyed steel in the agressive media(bio environment). Terms of biocompatibility and biofunctionality will be explained detailed as they are of crucial importance during selection of an implant material. The main focus is on materials used in medicine and biomedicine with emphasis on properties of implant material (mechanical, chemical, phisical) and surfacemodifications of the implant. The most important metalic materials as: stainless steel, Co alloys, Ti alloys and bioimplants with tantalum base are described in detail. This paper was aimed at describing tipical types of corrosion on implants in agresive environment like human body. In the end of this paper, application of metallic implants in human body using example of total hip replacement procedure is described.
